Slot 05 WHMCS billing and signup design Service

A signup and billing area customers can get through

Custom WHMCS customer area and order form design for hosting companies, built on the template system so updates do not undo the work.

Slot 38 Fault report Why checkouts leak

Most hosting checkouts lose people

Not deliberately, but the effect is the same. Stock templates ask for everything at once and put three upsells between the customer and the button.

The brand stops at login

A polished website handing off to a default blue billing panel reads as a third-party system. Customers notice, even when they cannot name it.

The form asks too early

Options, addons, domains and billing cycle stacked into one screen before the customer has decided on anything.

Bought themes, then fought

A marketplace skin edited in place, which turns every WHMCS update into a decision about whether to update at all.

Support tickets caused by design

"Where do I renew?" is a design bug. So is a customer not finding their invoices, or not understanding what they just bought.

Slot 30 Deliverables

What gets built

  • Full customer area on your brand: type, colour, spacing, components
  • Order form rebuilt around when people are ready to buy
  • Cart, configuration and domain steps simplified and reordered
  • Invoice, service and ticket screens made scannable
  • Works down to phone width, because renewals happen on phones
  • Template overrides and hooks, so core files stay untouched
  • Real form labels, focus states and contrast that passes
  • No page builder, no plugin per component, no heavy theme payload
  • Documentation of every override, for whoever updates it next
  • A staging pass before anything touches your live billing

Slot 22 Procedure 4 phases

Staging first, always

  1. 01

    Audit

A walk through your current customer area and order form the way a customer meets it, with a written list of what is costing you signups or creating tickets.

  2. 02

    Design

Key screens designed against your brand: dashboard, order form, cart, invoice. Agreed before anything gets built, so changes are cheap.

  3. 03

    Build on staging

Template overrides and hooks on a staging copy of your WHMCS. Your live billing system is not a development environment.

  4. 04

    Test and hand over

Real order paths tested end to end, including the ones nobody remembers, then deployment plus documentation of every file that was overridden.

Slot 08 Price list Starting figures

What a theme starts at

The number moves with how many screens you want touched and how far your brand is from where the templates start.

WHMCS theme prices
Custom theme Client area and order form designed together, built on the template system and documented. from $499
Theme maintenance Version-compatibility updates, security fixes and vulnerability patches, on the theme only. $120 per year

Final quote depends on how much of the client area is in scope. The form takes 60 seconds and I reply with a fixed number.

Or take both halves at once

Slot 04 Questions FAQ

Questions I get asked

Will a custom theme survive WHMCS updates?

That is the reason to build on the template system instead of replacing it. Templates get overridden rather than edited in place, custom logic lives in hooks rather than in core files, and every change is documented. No theme is update-proof forever, but this is the difference between an hour of work and a week.

Do you work from my brand or design one?

Either. If you have a brand and a marketing site, the customer area gets built to match, so people do not feel handed off to a different company at login. If you do not have one yet, I will work from what you do have and keep it restrained rather than inventing an identity you did not ask for.

Can you just fix the order form?

Yes, and it is usually where the money is. The order form decides whether a visitor becomes a customer, and most stock templates ask too much, in the wrong order, with the total hidden until the end. Fixing that is a flow problem, not a paint job.

What about speed and accessibility?

The customer area is a logged-in application and gets treated like one. No page builders, no library loaded for a single component, real form labels, keyboard-reachable controls, and colour contrast that passes. Slow billing pages cost you support tickets.

Do you understand the WHMCS side, not just the design?

I have run WHMCS as a business owner, not only styled it. Product setup, order flow, hooks and the connections to the servers are all things I have had to make work in production, so the design accounts for what sits behind the screen.
